Please see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Drm-bTrC4eU\">our new video about the class<\/a>: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Drm-bTrC4eU\">http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Drm-bTrC4eU<\/a><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> and perhaps &#8220;like&#8221; our new Facebook page: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/collegeprepEnglishforhomeschoolers\">https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/collegeprepEnglishforhomeschoolers<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>This  class is open to students of any age who are ready to work on  college-level English and may be taken repeatedly as it is different  every year. <span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">If you have  taken the class before, please share your experiences with others, and  you are welcome to join us as an advanced student as we explore new  ground. <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Parents are always welcome.<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"decoded\" title=\"Thomas Paine\" src=\"http:\/\/www.history2u.com\/thomas_paine-common_sense.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Thomas Paine\" hspace=\"4\" vspace=\"4\" width=\"354\" height=\"240\" align=\"right\" \/><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">We covered a great deal last year including three Shakespeare plays (Twelfth Night, Much Ado about Nothing, Henry V) together with some Jane Austen, George Bernard Shaw, Oscar Wilde, <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">P.G. <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Wodehouse,  Abraham Lincoln, J.R.R. Tolkien, Jerome K. Jerome, Maya Angelou,  Bertrand Russell, David Berlinski, Thomas Paine, Douglas Adams, Kenneth  Grahame, Stephen Hawking and many other greats (not to mention Edgar  Rice Burroughs and the Klingon version of Hamlet).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>We engaged in  debates, recitations and lectures and were inspired by some of the  greatest writers and orators of the English speaking world.<\/p>\n<p>We read and studied papers in scholarly journals and practiced both writing and speaking in formal academic English.<\/p>\n<p>And we had fun!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/abacus-es.com\/cpep\/collegeprepenglishcoversmall.jpg\" border=\"2\" alt=\"practice book cover\" hspace=\"10\" width=\"238\" height=\"328\" align=\"left\" \/>The class uses the text: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/SAT-ACT-Toefl-College-Prep-English-Practice\/149757991762256\">SAT, ACT TOEFL College Prep English<\/a> but will cover many other things as well, to be determined by the interests and inspiration of class members. <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Writing  and speaking skills and techniques for the felicitous presentation of  cogent and compelling prose will be covered together with advanced  vocabulary, language usage, comprehension, grammar and style that will  serve students well in college and college credit examinations.
